Following a 4-year hiatus, our mission re-opened in November 2013 with a mandate to promote the development of bilateral economic, cultural, educational, scientific, tourism and human relations within the framework characterized by Hong Kong's status as a Special Administrative Region. Despite the great geographical distance, we strive to bring the people of Hungary and Hong Kong closer together so that they can get to know each other's rich culture, customs, and the natural beauty of their homeland.
We put a special focus on expanding our existing trade cooperation, including Hungarian exports to Hong Kong, and encouraging Hong Kong investments towards Hungary. We do our best to help build business relations and facilitate the introduction of Hungarian products to the Hong Kong market. We assist companies in finding and connecting with potential partners, and in organizing and conducting events aimed at boosting bilateral economic ties.
The Consulate General of Hungary provides comprehensive consular protection service to our visiting compatriots. Hungarian citizens in Hong Kong and Macao can count on our utmost assistance in case of emergency situations, natural disasters and all matters concerning their personal safety.
Actively promoting tourism and assisting the people of Hong Kong and Macau in matters related to entering and staying in Hungary is also part of our mission.
