2018 marked the 9th occassion that the European Film Festival was held in Hong Kong with great success. After the huge success of Oscar winning Son of Saul in 2016 and Liza the Fox Fairy in 2017, Hungary won the heart of the audience again with Kincsem - Bet on Revenge. The film whose central theme is horseracing, has been the most expensive Hungarian film produced up to date and has brought in record ratings; in Hungary alone over half a million people went to see the film.
