Welcome by Consul General
Dear Visitor! It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the website of the Consulate General of Hungary in Hong Kong!
Following a 4-year hiatus, our mission re-opened in November 2013 with a mandate to promote the development of bilateral economic, cultural, educational, scientific, tourism and human relations within the framework set by Hong Kong's special political and economic situation. Despite the great geographical distance, we strive to bring Hungarians and Hong Kong people closer together so that they can get to know each other's rich culture, customs, living conditions and the natural beauty of their homeland.
Our special focus is to expand existing trade cooperation, including Hungarian exports, and to encourage Hong Kong investments in Hungary. As far as possible, we help build business relationships, and facilitate the introduction and marketing of Hungarian products. Upon request, we assist in finding and connecting potential partners, and in organizing and conducting events aimed at boosting economic relations.
The Consulate General of Hungary provides comprehensive consular protection service to our compatriots visiting Hong Kong. Hungarian citizens in Hong Kong and Macao can count on our utmost assistance in case of emergency situations, natural disasters and all matters concerning their personal safety.
The mission will continue to actively promote tourism and assist in matters regarding the entry and stay of Hong Kong visitors to Hungary.
We appreciate any opinion or suggestion that contributes to making our work more effective, or makes our website more informative and even more responsive to our readers.
On behalf of all staff of the Consulate General of Hungary, I wish all visitors to our website good health and personal success and happiness.
Dr. Pál Kertész
Consul General
